History
Originally inspired by the birth of my three Granddaughters, my work has been radio broadcast both by the RNIB and Hospital Radio in the UK and for the blind and dementia sufferers in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. A fairy tale Christmas story was recorded by the actor Brian Blessed and radio broadcast worldwide by RNIB radio. A Christmas Carol was performed at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, London, for the formerly named Prince Charles’ Foundation for Children and the Arts and a sung ballet on stage and film raised funds both for the Royal Foundation and for Brain Tumour Research Campaign.
I have also successfully read by invitation to the children at our local Primary Schools and on a regular basis to the elderly, to sufferers from mild dementia at a community club “Engage,” where I am a volunteer helper and at the Chailey Heritage, a national centre of excellence for children and young adults with neuro disabilities, where my poems have been interpreted visually for a giant screen live experience. Many of my poems relate to nature, which is known to be therapeutic for mental health and well-being.
These experiences, purely for charity, have been immensely rewarding and have demonstrated how my work can entertain and bring both comfort and stimulus to all ages, especially to the young and the needy.
